There aren't a bajillion new models because the old ones suck, and they're still on the original, which works fine. I mean, I never had problems when I had a Wii.

I haven't taken my Wii apart yet, but I've looked into the modding community of it so I know of a bunch of changes to the hardware and while I was at gamestop picking up my SSBB at launch someone came to return their copy becuase they said their Wii wouldn't read it, turns out it was a problem with a bunch of launch Wii's DVD drives. Hell, my friend that bought one at launch got a dead system. Like he plugged it in and nothing lol. There was also the problem at launch that when some systems would connect to the WiiConnect24 thing it'd break their system. No gaming console, or any electronic device is perfect on the first try. My Xbox and 360 are the only systems that I take apart without worry. I've modded over 100 Xbox (original) systems, and repaired tons of them from death, the Xbox 360 I looked into modding when I got mine (Hell, I got the version that I did specifically so that it'd have the Hitachi DVD drive to make it easier to mod...)
